I came to Alaska in 1980 as a consultant to work with the executives at Alascom. At the time I was president of Pacific Northern Financial Group. Pacific Northern provided personal financial planning as a fringe benefit for executives at Alascom, Arco, BP, Alyeska Pipeline and other similar sized companies on the West Coast.
Five minutes out of the Anchorage Airport I knew that Alaska was home.
While working as a consultant I was also involved as a volunteer counselor with the Viet Nam Veterans Outreach Center in Anchorage from 1981 until 1989. During this time I developed and implemented an approach for the treatment of combat induced post-traumatic stress. This treatment method was used to assist some 500 Alaska combat veterans and their loved ones who were dealing with the effects of PTSD.
I am an alumnus of Alaska Pacific University. I received an inter-disciplinary masters degree (MLA) in anthropology and psychology in 1991 and an MBA in 1992. My doctorate in management science was earned at the Union Institute and University in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1998. My specialty is process management.
In 1996 I was a co-founder of StrateGen, Inc. StrateGen provides process management consulting services www.strategen.us

Hey Ken,
It is summer, time to catch up on communications. One thing you should know is my email address has changed. My hotmail acct. which I used to register at your site was used fraudulently last year, so I am now at rebplas@gmail.com. I would love to hear how you and Francine are doing. Life has been hectic, but I feel some reprieve now that it is summer. I will write more when I hear from you.
Take care.
Love,
Becky
Hi Donna,
Thank you for your note. It's a pleasure to have another VSO in our community. You do such a great job for our vets. I'm very pleased that you find this site useful.

Hello Ken-
Thanks for the wonderful welcome, but I need to correct one thing- I am the spouse of a 100% disabled veteran and the Asst. County Veteran Service Officer for Williamson County. I AM passionate about my job of assisting veterans and their families, so this website gives me information that I can use towards that goal. Thank you for taking the time to develop this site.
What I'm interested in doing is getting folks engaged in talking about issues at the local level and connecting with each other through our community.
What are the issues that are of most concern and how are they being, or not being addresses where you are. This is a boots on the ground reality check approach.
You provide me withe questions that you want to be asked and I'll serve them up in the interview.
I'm hopeful that we can do this with others around the country so that we begin to get a sense of the kinds of discussions we need to be encouraging on the WOTCH site.

I re-thought your request, looked at my response and decided to ammend it. YES! No matter the topic of discussion, I would be honored.
